Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just found out both nurse practitioners will be on vacation when I cover the consult service next week. We went over the current patients and I am pretty scared Fortunately, the fellow who was on service this week will be around, but please, God, don't let me hurt anyone!

Don't be ascared. It's not like you're building a wheel, or something.

That's something else I haven't done in years, but I think it's gotten easier. It's probably a good sign that I know I'm potentially dangerous.

Thank you! So far, my general medical concerns are chronic hairy cell leukemia, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, systemic coccidiomycosis due to an unidentified congenital immune deficiency in a young man with cognitive delays and apparently incidental thyroid cancer, autosomal dominant interferon gamma receptor 1 deficiency with an as-yet unspeciated systemic mycobacterial infection, and sickle cell disease. Just routine stuff.

Routine stuff for a teritiary care center. Feel free to rely on your consultants, especially heme-onc, ID, and immunology.

Fortunately, I am the consultant, not primary, on these poor people. The neurological issues are serious and gnarly enough.

I have hubs, rims, and spokes galore, and am in need of wheels. Day after day after month after month goes by and I build no wheels. I very much enjoy building wheels. But I don't take well to doing the measuring and such. Therein lies the holdup.

Steel is real.

It's also a great material for pots and pans.

U.S.P.S. workers are often maligned, but the guy who brings the mail to our suite is really nice. His outfit is complete with audio of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."
