Anyone here knowledgeable of Turkey touring and willing to give me a rough itinerary of a six-week circuit starting and ending in Istanbul taking in the historic sites and chill roads with accommodation along the way?

I can share just one tip about touring Turkey, from a buddy who hitchhiked around Turkey a few years ago. Learn the football (soccer) leagues, be able to talk about the local team, wherever you happen to be. He's also a polygot who picks up languages like a sponge, but that's another story.
