First bike advice please

Hi everyone!

I am 6'4, 330lbs and have somewhat of a bodybuilder build. I am looking for something that I can do trails with (living in michigan, its mainly forest trails around here, no crazy drops or jumps) and to rack some serious miles as i try to transition to a more manageable body style and drop my overall weight down, doing something that looks AMAZINGLY FUN. There's so many brands and types out there, just was hoping for a recommendation, or certain things to look out for. My budget is $1k or less ideally.
