If ever there was a bike to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, it'd be some sort of old Schwinn, I'd guess.

Would love to see a video of this one being ridden! Just imagine those brake cables flopping around down near the front (rear) hub...

Q: how do you know it's Gary and not Detroit?

A: In Detroit, they wouldn't have bothered with the cones/barrels.

Mad Pogue,
Believe it or not those are actually pictures of the north side of Valpo. The city seems to be moving southward toward the major highway intersections. That area is ripe for renovations and some developer is going to cash in. But you are right the barrels would not be out! However here in Indiana we have no place to store them, so we just put them in the roadway for storage. Try searching for "orange barrels" song from about ten years ago. Smiles, MH

MP,
Yeah I overlooked that pic, thinking it was one of the bank branches. Perhaps the seller rode it there, but Gary is a few miles from Valpo about 20 if I remember right.
I grew up in Michigan City about twenty miles northeast of Valpo. We had the distinction of the largest gated community in the state, where every domicile had it's own gate that was locked every night. Indiana State Prison to be exact. Smiles, MH

I don't believe that Schwinn produced the "Cruiser Deluxe" in the '50s. Wasn't this model introduced in the mid-'90s to take advantage of the retro-trend.

Looks like a twist on the classic "Scarface" road to success in America. First you get the bike. Then you get the car. Then you sell the bike to get money, to buy the power and the women.

What are those frame springs for on "GONZO the GREAT"?

Also he paints a lovely picture of Athens OH, full of predatory vermin and rabid mongrels all looking to take out poor helpless police cadets

Those springs are for vibrations.
He's selling in Columbus, so the caution might be warranted.
