New Personal Record

I know this may not sound like much for some folks, but I set a personal record for low temperature on my ride to work yesterday... -10F with a wind chill of -24 according to the NWS. Yes, it can be done!

That's righteous, well done.

Did you have the gear for it?

Nice job! Wisconsin winters are no joke, especially once you get outside of Milwaukee/Madison. I lived there for a while, and I'm trying not to go back

That's not true. That's a lot to most, if not all, folks. Well done!

FWIW, I rode last Friday when the temperature was -21*C with a wind chill of -31, and folks are impressed, but the wind was more or less at my back so wind chill was minimized. My own personal record is -29, but that was few years ago. Not sure if I'd be willing to put up with it now. Softening up as I age.

Yeah I did, layers just like any other cold weather activity, plus not overworking to keep the sweat to a minimum. Other than my toes I never really felt cold.

Nice! Well done!
This is my first Wisconsin winter and first experience riding in this weather. Once I got it in my head not to let the weather (except lots of snow) keep me from riding, I just added layers of clothing and learned to enjoy being outside.
