I had a sweet Dawes I bought while in the USAF. Unfortunately it was stolen and never seen again. Sigh.

Out of the Loop

I've been out of the loop lately; some malfunction with my account prevented me from being able to post here. I sent the moderators a couple emails, and it looks like they fixed it.

Anyway, here's a shot from the other day, down along the river:

Looking at it now, I think I should have placed it about a foot further to the right. I'll remember that next time. I hope you all are coping alright with this crazy new reality.

Cheers.

It doesn't fit the Corona virus profile, nothing respiratory, or even gastro for that matter. My wife says probably Ebola, I hope she's wrong!

So today I ventured out with the bike in my new bike-hauler van, and rode around the parking lot of what used to be "Diamond Jim's" back in the day. Diamond Jim's

Today it is just another American ghost town, but a fascinating place for a photographer. After a few laps around the parking lot,I was getting a bit dizzy and sweaty. So I posed the bike for a few shots, and drove back home. When I am well again, I'll go back later in the day when the light is better, and shoot some more.

Rumor has it that this place is going to be torn down soon, probably this year. Better get it while the gettin's good.

Really nice colors there. I'm assuming the fenders are wooden. What make are they?

Those are "Woody's" Compound Curve - Cherry with Bloodwood & Wenge Center Stripe fenders. Like anything else of this quality, they are not cheap. But they transform the presence of a bike to the next level.

I ride past the old Diamond Jim's quite frequently. I noticed that even the liquor store and barber shop look deserted. Not surprised that it's being torn down. We had a few Christmas parties there back in the 70's. It was a fun place in its day.

^^^ Beautiful shots, slightspeed! The classic Super Course is a very photogenic bicycle.

Here's one of my first shots of the `49 Raleigh Clubman I built last year:

That bike will be back on the road soon... maybe this weekend? Can't wait!

Not much of the bike, but what the heck. The bike is a Peugeot TH8 tandem, the location Hampton Beach, NH.

Different bike, near the top of Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park, Maine:

Another pic of the tandem:

One Dreary Day in Hastings...

Trying to find scenes that I haven't shot in Hastings is getting more difficult with each trip down there. But here are a few from yesterday's ride:

This was a mistake from yesterday's ride, as I put my phone away, but I decided to keep it. I like high contrast shots and this color shot reminds me of an old film noir black and white.
