Addiction LXXVII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I will probably start to wear something for any indoor activities outside the house. Shopping gives me the heebie jeebies.

Same here. I found a pack of 3 dust masks in a cupboard. Do you think they would offer at least minimal protection? I see people walking around with masks that have no seal to them. Very loose fitting.

According to my understanding of emerging doctrine, yes. They will block large droplets.

If I get edged out in a MUP sprint, there's retroactive rub. Everybody knows the rules.

Gonna wear one while riding?

I agree that a mask probably helps some. It still makes more sense for the person with the illness to wear one IMO.

No. I don’t consider riding a high risk activity. And yes! Anyone who is ill should wear a mask. That mitigates a point source.

I won’t wear one while riding. I keep a good distance from people, even while stopped at lights. I stay back from crosswalks.

We need to throw this week's leader board out because of this and my excluded walk.

The one you work at.
And virtual rides.

Truth. I need to hit a grocery store for a few items and I'm sitting here trying to get the nerve to go. Also, my local bike path is getting so crowded that I'm afraid the park district might close it. I use it quite a bit as a sheltered part of my normal rides but I'm going to have to start avoiding it.

My stock portfolio thanks you and I bet you're not as well stocked as you think. You probably need 3-4 more trips this week.

In lighter news I get to go home today, have not actually gotten to do a ride in about 3 weeks so I am hoping that tomorrow morning before the rain comes I can get one in.

Fun fact since I have been back at work I have been stuck in **** weather. While at work non stop shooting approaches to minimums and moderate turbulence, (wx perfect at my house). I get home and the weather quickly turns to rain.

I blame velo for this case of terrible no good bad luck.

3 am off to work I go.
Maybe you've become a rain god.

This weekend was awesome weather, but no riding happened. Sad!

I spent most of my outdoor time on yard work and stripping paint from the bed of my El Camino. I decided to do a bed liner, but there is rust galore underneath the quick paint job that was done on the truck at some point. LOTS of rust. I will have quite a few hours into it when it's done.

I also sold two guitars at the same time. Thinning the herd and it feels great.

I haven't noticed much more activity on mine, aside from what I attribute to just nicer weather.

Like all the other parks though, even if the park district closed it it wouldn't stop me or anyone else from using it. Actually, the local path is technically closed from November through April, I just found that out a couple days ago.

I go to "closed" parks a lot, I generally think of them as "closed to drive-in traffic" rather than closed to everyone.

The only exception is the local state park, I get the vibe that people will actually enforce it being closed, with real consequences.
