Hello from Rochester, WA

I did my introduction on the Pacific NW forum but have found this for introductions as well...

New to the forum and although not new to biking I have had a few decades away from something I enjoyed so much so long ago.

Sold my old Schwin Varsity that had been collecting dust for many years after trying to ride the steep hills in Northeast Seattle. Now that I’m in a fairly flat prairie farming community I picked up a hybrid and am working my way back into riding.

Hi. We lived in Chehalis for a while in the 90's. Nice area down there. I did find I needed to carry pepper spray for dogs, but bucolic, yessirree.

Thanks for the welcome AmberDaisy.

I do wish I had some of my older bikes. I remember one that had the big balloon tires and a lots of chrome including fenders, wheels, chain guard, and huge chrome spring for suspension on the front. Very heavy bike, but i was an early teen at the time so it didn't matter much.

Thanks StanSeven,

I do enjoy the flat quite a bit now, but had great fun going down huge hills when younger! No helmet, not so great brakes, no fear and a lot of good luck!

We enjoy it a lot here in Rochester! Carry bear spray here at times of the year when fruit is falling from trees and we can't keep up with it. If the wind is right it's not too bad, but we do have our days with a big diary operation just down the road!

I like the flat. I remember the fun on the hills, but will keep it flat for now!
