Fun for those who could only dream of having back when but now have the means. The ones in the box would be really nice as a present wrapped and under the Christmas tree.

Disclosure: no connection to seller or affiliated in any transaction.

Description reads:
Brand new Schwinn Paramount P-13 Sunset Orange. Everything original including . Weinmann brakes, Clement 50 sew ups, Brook's pro saddle. Must see to believe. Bike has to be picked up in person, no acceptions! We also have new ones in boxes but more expensive.

Chi-town. Pretty amazing if you go to CL Chicago, the variety of Paramounts. I guess that should be expected though. $3500 is a lot of money.

And tall guys are cheap.
thinking of the cost to recreate one
$3,500 could be spent and not be trying too hard, paint, chrome, NOS everything... 50/50 that the tires and saddle are salvageable.

That's true, but that guy is not going to get that, and it would be crazy to spend that kind of money restoring one, even though it would cost that. I have to admit though, Chicago Paramounts don't ever seem soft in the market.

That makes sense. After all, Chicago is the Schwinndy City.

This is an huge opportunity for someone local - act as the shipping agent for BF members. $500/bike.

Pick up from seller. Drop off at shipper. Collect your fee.

I wonder if the Campy tool kits are still in the boxes. You used to get a peanut butter wrench, t-wrench, and a couple others with a Paramount.

I bought several used bikes from an old Schwinn store in Milwaukee Wisconsin, about 5 years ago. I got a tour of their basement. 70'S Chrome Paramount - in the box, one of every Sting Ray Krate - in the box, and more. Wonder how many other stores have a retirement stash of...in the box bikes.

It does make a fellow wonder how many 70's bikes are still in boxes or sitting untouched in the recesses of a shop....

When I arrived in Peoria in the mid 90's, a shop had recently been transferred from father to son. The son was pulling NOS bikes out of the basement, still in the box! There was a lagoon blue Raleigh Gran Sport that was at least 3" too small for me, but I still had an urge to buy it.
The shop also had a chrome Paramount that had been on display in the shop since the 70's, as well as a white Paramount that had been in the back of the shop all that time.

By the time they decided to sell them, I had already picked up a '74 Raleigh International, still in the box, from a fellow who bought a bunch of boxed bikes from a Chicago shop that went out of business. The Paramounts are gone now, presumably to people that were excited to get them.
Doesn't seem likely that there are many of these pristine, top level bikes out there nowadays.

Alternatively, jump on a plane and show up in person. Either way, it's $500 plus shipping.

Agree completely. Out of reach then, and at $3,500 still out of reach.

If nice but ridden some bikes can go for 12-1400, 3500 is fair for brand spanking new.

edit: "Not cheap"

It looks like someone was too lazy to bring the blue one down from the racking and open the box properly, and just clawed the end of the box open?

$3450, tops, now.

Look at the workmanship, paint and chrome on that orange bike. Paramount, indeed!
