Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A friend of mine is going 2x12 so I bought his Di2 stuff. Had it installed on my Propel yesterday at my local toy store. Picking it up today.

Between today and tomorrow I should be able to finish up the leaves, complicated by runoff from the neighbor’s chickens.

It's going to be in the 40s and sunny today. Will be sitting in a seminar all day.

So this morning's misadventure involves prep for our Spain trip. My wife had a hassle buying tickets to the Alhambra a couple months ago, because the credit card got flagged as fraudulent since it looked like the buyer was in Spain. She called the bank and the bank somehow made it ok.

So I tried to buy tickets today from Malaga to Ronda for next Tuesday. I called the bank and explained the situation. They said they would make it so it would be ok.

I tried to buy tickets and it got rejected.

I called bank second time....they reset the account and said try again. Rejected again.

I called bank third time. They said they reset the account but now I have to talk to their fraud dept to find a way to make it go through. Now on hold for fraud dept.

Sad!

Impressive that they perpetrate enough fraud to require an entire department.

I will try again later. If it's not happening, I will just buy the tickets in Spain.

I have a "system" with our leaves, due to some orthopedic issues in my hands/wrists I can't really rake well so I use the lawnmower with the bagger to get them up, then compost the leaves in the backyard. I can't do it all at once, because when the leaves get too thick they clog the chute in the tractor. So I have to do three full passes of the lawn, one in late October, one in mid-November, and the last one in Early December. We are two out of three, and will do last pass in a couple weeks.

There are times that I'm glad to be such a gear-hound and now is one of those times.

I've been kicking around a couple woodworking ideas for a while, but they've been on the back-burner because of, well, riding my bike. Now that I'm not spending as much time riding, I'm eager to start some projects. As I've been thinking through the projects, I've been thinking about what I'll need, both in terms of tools and materials, and I've been putting together a wish list in anticipation of Black Friday sales.

This morning, I decided it might be a good idea to revisit my work space and take mental inventory. Holy **** - I already have most of the things that I thought I'd need to buy. Sweet.

Ha. I spent some time on The Outer Worlds, but my motivation kinda petered out when it got too easy/my character got too powerful. I might re-start at a higher difficulty, but I want to feel mildly productive before I sink too much time in to it (or any other game, for that matter).

Oh, I had to pick up a few things at Costco and I happened to see the 40 count stroopwafel pack that Trsnrtr mentioned. Yup, I had to resist because I knew that it'd be trouble to have that in the house.
