New returned biker after 30 years..
Up here in BC Canada. 56, and haven't ridden since early 20s. Was given an old 12 speed mountain bike. Proceeded to buy a ton of tools including things like cone wrenches ect. The bike sat for 10 years, and have no idea how old it is. So far have fully cleaned and repacked hubs and bearings in both wheels, took apart derailleur gears , clean, regreased put back together. Had to use solvents, aluminum wool and sand paper to remove all rust ect. Cleaned all gears and adjusted so all gears shift properly. Still have to replace one brake line, and 3 spokes and one nipple. Then I'll have to finish trueing the wheels. I learned things about bikes I had no idea about! Only thing left is to find out if my 26" rims which I believe are 559s, can take larger than 1.75" wide tires. The rims are stamped with 26x1.75HE which I'm not sure I understand. Well, that's my re-introduction to biking!

Sounds like you’re having fun. I’ve just started wrenching on a few bikes myself. I have a few I can ride in between building and selling spare parts. Good times!

Another reason I got back on my bike.... I get to buy more tools..!! Quick question.. Did you buy a bike tool kit or did you buy better tools one by one??

Heh, there is no bike tool kit. You just need a complete set of flatwrenches, a complete socket set, and then maybe cone wrenches, large box wrenches... It kind of goes on and on. Maybe a freewheel/freehub removal tool. Kind of why I'm liking it, just
keep adding more tools! Here's my old 12 speed vintage mtb, from late 80s, uses all shimano stuff. I've gone to 2.125 tires on it which f's me up for fenders, but oh well. It's about 80% mechanically restored:
