Hello from Pittsburgh
I'm a dad and husband living in Pittsburgh. I've been riding since I was 6, have suffered through several low end Huffies and Schwinns and enjoy riding for distance on country roads and light trails, and I've enjoyed venturing off the beaten path every now and then into the mud and gravel. Now I'm pushing 50, married with a couple of adolescent sons and looking to get back into riding beyond my current twice a month 25 mile ride whenever I can squeeze it in. Last year I finally got my wife into riding and we bought her a new Trek FX2. Together we've ridden a couple of 25 and 40 miles events in the area (the 3-2-1 Ride in downtown Pittsburgh, Bridges and Vines over/up in Ohio, Gears to Beers in the rolling hills up north, Pedal Pittsburgh) and I'd like to make it a regular thing. My wife is on a mission though and she's mentioned wanting to ride through the Florida Keys and my inner Jimmy Buffet is screaming "oh hell YA!"
That being said, that's a bit ambitious at present - but it's a dream to work toward. We have a lot of work to get that point - beyond even getting in shape for it. That's something best left for another story though. For now, I'm looking forward to the next 3-2-1 Ride in October and am currently re-evaluating my current ride; it's time for a new one - which I will also be inquiring others' opinions here on as well.

Hello and welcome!
Yes it seems ambitious but one step at a time brings you closer to your goals. The wonderful thing is that you have your wife to join you. Good luck on your ride next month!
