Microshift M25-7 Cable Replacement

Hello

Would anyone know what is the correct tool/procedure to remove the little cable head cap on a Microshift M25-7 shifter?

microSHIFT -The best control system

The website says remove the cap to remove the old cable and install new one but does not say how. In my shifter, the cap rotates but does not screw out so it does not seem to be threaded. A knife point does not grip it. I wonder how to remove it so that I don't need a replacement for the cap itself.

Thanks
