Handlebar width

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Handlebar width

This is probably a stupid question. I was wondering what is the width of handlebars on F55 Felt '06 54. I sent a question to Felt, and their reply was 420 (no units). Now I don't think they ment cm or inches (those would be some huge handlebars). So that leaves mm, but that would translate to about 16.3 inches. I don't think that correct either. So what gives?

Thx.

It is 420mm... or 42 bars. It depends on how they take measurements... center to center or outside to outside... but 40, 42, 44 (Center to Center) are most popular.

That's about right. 42cm.
Now it's a matter of preference as to whether you want them wider or narrower.

Wider really helps you sprint and climb. Much more leverage. Plus it opens up your lungs when your arms are spread wider.

One cm means a lot!
