2020 is in the books. What are your riding goals for January? What about for the whole year?

I’d like to get 800 miles in January. And I’m going to try to hit 10,000 for 2021.

This is my flexible goal for 2021....200 miles a month, 2500 miles for the year and at least one full 100 mile century

For the 8 months that I actually get to see mileage since indoors counts 0 miles, I'll put down 4,800 miles with 240,000 feet of climbing.
We will see how the new knee I got last July holds up. If they decide to replace my other knee then obviously that total mileage is not going to happen.

I've set a personal goal of 6,000 miles for 2021; 3/4 of the miles on the road, 1/4 on the smart trainer. I did 5,000 last year with about the same split between road and smart trainer using Zwift and Rouvy.

Mileage will be going down this year, we purchased another house and will be traveling quite a bit. I think I have found a simple route for some daily mileage at the new location.
Goal is 500 miles.

Happy New Year Everyone! Lots of wind in January here in south Texas, and its been unusually cold: January is usually very windy. I am setting a goal of 8,000 miles for the year and a goal of 500 miles for January.

A friend has been after me for months to join him and the rest of the Vintage Bike Ride group in Pasadena for their once-a-month ride. Finally, I had a free Sunday morning so today I took him up on it, and rode the '75 Centurion Super LeMans. I was worried its rotting rear tire would explode in mid-ride like the front one did in the garage just sitting there, but it held up fine over 24+ miles. New tires are on the way, and the discerning eye will see that, in the absence of any available 27x1.25 tires in Los Angeles, I put my spare front wheel from my Tarmac on this bike, and moved the brake pads so they'd (sort of) work. Thankfully, I didn't have to make any hard stops, because the front brakes would not have been a lot of help. But the bike sure did ride nice on that front wheel. Living with just 10 speeds in the gearing was a little challenging on the hill, but I made it to the highest point, and it was literally all downhill from there. Going to have to do this again, though I might want to use a different bike, though maybe not, because this one performed admirably, and I can't remember the last time I rode it 24 miles in the same day.

Goals for 2021
This will be my third year back in the Saddle. Consistency is my primary goal. I tend to go in streaks, this year I plan to ride every week even if the Peloton has to supplement (much prefer to be outside though)
2000 Miles, 100 January, Feb, Nov and Dec and , 200 per month March-October. This is up from around 800 miles in 2020.
I also have a goal to lose 40 lbs and get to 221 lbs. I started Weight Watchers in November. It works when I follow it. Need to be more consistent there too
I hope to do a multi day ride and maybe an organized Century. I live close enough to the Katy trail in Missouri - may be able to plan something there. I like to ride vintage bikes and have a few touring bikes to choose from. RAGBRAI in Iowa is the ultimate goal, but prob wont happen this year. I grew up in Iowa and rode a few days back in the day.
Rides so far this year:
1/3/21 - 16.4 miles
1/4//21 - 15.34 miles
YTD 31.74

Happy to be back on the bike for the new year after a few weeks off due to a (non-cycling related) injury.
Goal: 300
MTD: 40.76
1/1 - 18.27mi ride cut short because of a bad flat that I couldn't repair roadside

Would've been my usual 26-mile commute day were it not for the pothole that I couldn't see because my mask fogged up my glasses. Brand new Gatorskin tire survived it fine, the tube, not so much. Opened my toolkit and discovered the inflator was missing (knew I forgot to check something last night), but I was across the street from a gas station, I'll just get out my handy Schraeder adapter...no, that's missing, too. Not sure what happened to it, but however it went, game over. Was only a couple blocks from the Metro station so I walked there and took the train the rest of the way home. New tube and fully-stocked toolbag, we'll hit it again tomorrow (not the pothole, hopefully).

Looked extra close along the stretch of pavement that took me out yesterday and found at least a half-dozen potholes that could have been the one. Thankfully, I missed them all this time.
