6600 shifter and 6800 calipers brakes

Hi All, i purchased a set of 6800 calipers brakes and I have 6600 shifters. Anyone know if they are compatible? I couldn't find any chart to confirm that but found some info regarding Shimano had changed their cable pull ratio from 6700. Thanks!

I had the opposite issue. https://www.bikeforums.net/bicycle-m...-calipers.html

The 6800 levers have a greater pull ratio than 6600. The new levers worked with the old brakes but were very firm with reduced power. I upgraded the brakes after a while.

In your case, your older levers won’t pull adequate cable so your brakes will be very squishy. I wouldn’t try that.

I played with this once and thought it would work OK but for an out of state daughter's bike it was a no go, she would have had to be more careful with the increased lever travel needed and the wheels lateral run out and pad clearance than normally needed.
