Worlds most expensive vintage cycling jersey?

What happened here? Am I missing it's significance or something?

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...d=405288456800

I had it on my watch list and it finished earlier today. Me and my girlfriend were stunned watching the auction in real time.

Perhaps wool jerseys are now in demand - who knows?

13 Euro to ship to a European address? A bit outrageous.

They are indeed. Still though, paying nearly $1200 for a jersey seems a bit crazy. Each to their own I suppose

Multiple bidders. Seems legit to me.

Just a silly rare jersey.

L eroica just finished people with money to burn, wanted it bad enough. I guess its like buying a game worn yankee jersey, from the 40s.

I believe Santini made at least a couple different repop Legnano jerseys. One in wool and one in Lycra. A couple years back I found a repop wool jersey at a swap meet. I didn't buy it when I found a couple holes in the back of it.
