Eurosport Player Uses Silverlight - What Browser and Proxy Server To Use?
This is kind of irritating. I signed up for Eurosport Player, because I can log into Eurosport Player using the Hola proxy server in Chrome browser. But it turns out that Eurosport Player's live streams use Microsoft Silverlight for DRM, and Google has dropped Chrome support for Silverlight in favor of HTML5, which Eurosport Player apparently doesn't use yet.
Silverlight is still supported by Firefox, Safari, and IE. I don't like Firefox, do use Safari and IE, although it looks like IE will be supplanted by Spartan soon. But I haven't found a good, easy to use, inexpensive geo-obscuring proxy server that works with Safari or IE.
Any suggestions for solving this conundrum? Or do I have to unsubscribe from Eurosport Player and go back to the pixelated pirate feeds full of malware? I've been trying to find a slightly more legitimate and higher-quality way to watch the races. Universal Sport and BEIN Sport via Sling TV didn't work so well for me - no/confusing/limited DVR functionality, somewhat limited coverage, most of the spring classics were shown 1-2 days delayed. I might go back to Sling TV for the Giro if I can't find another alternative.

Wha?
Eurosport Player UK (Silverlight crap and all) works fine on Chrome (Win7x64) here via my VPN Tunnel. Watched Tour de Yorkshire this morning actually on it, and have been using it to watch Eurosport for the last 14 months) I dunno what Proxy/VPN service you are using but it is the problem rather than Chrome or Silverlight it seems.

I've never had an issue with silverlight in chrome before, but it's been awhile since I've done it.
If you don't need to watch the races live, why not just grab them from Login :: CyclingTorrents.nl V.2.0.0 ?
I usually watch the races the evening they took place in HD and without commercials.

Okay, I run Windows on my Mac too, so I'll install Chrome for Windows (I'm running Windows 10) and it should work. Thanks.

Update, I finally gave up using Chrome in any form, switched to Safari which hasn't deprecated Silverlight. Then switched to a different VPN. All is well and I'm happily watching the Giro on europlayer.

I use a Mac and have had good luck using Safari, Private Internet Access (few bucks a month). I sign into London UK and it runs smoothly.

I've been pretty happy, am watching the Giro on Europlayer and all is well for about $14/month. Well, there is a little buffering or low resolution, very occasionally. I'm not sure if that is Europlayer, my VyprVPN, or my internet connection.

HELP! I figured out how to connect to a VPN to get access to Eurosport UK but I don't see today's stage in the list of videos. Any idea how long it takes for Eurosport to post their recorded races???
Any other place that may have the entire recorded race in english? I have a VPN at the moment.

It takes awhile for Europlayer to put the morning's stage on VOD, they seem to show up midday sometime. Bits and pieces go up on Youtube shortly after the finish.

I'm glad because after the finish I finally got it on our cable's BEIN channel. BEIN's version was hosted by Carlton Kirby; EP's was hosted by Rob Hatch. The difference is like night and day. Kirby's delivery is pompous and fatuous. He drifts away from the stage and talks bout anything but the race including what he's eaten earlier and the noises going on outside the broadcaster's box. His 'private' jokes and inside comments are bad enough but the way he giggles over them surely must be embarrassing for the retired cyclist co-hosting the stage coverage. At the Tour of Turkey he went on and on and on about some guy who sells nuts outside the press box. At one point in today's stage he was blabbing at length about how that part of the stage had stabilized while the eventual winner took off on an attack. He couldn't have been watching his monitor. Ten seconds or so, after he stopped talking he finally caught the attack. Time to retire!
What am I going to do tomorrow? No Giro, no Tour of California.

I'm noticing that EuroSport Player only checks your location when you start a stream. I can disconnect my VPN mid-stream without interrupting anything, although I need to reconnect before starting a new stream. So if your VPN has poor speed, that isn't necessarily a big problem.

Should be Golgoski and Seward doing that one. They are really pretty good together...

do people really prefer to be tied to broadcast times of live feeds full of commercials and pay for the privilege?
it's like driving through traffic on a Saturday night, find a parking space, waiting in line at the threatre, paying top dollar for a soda and a small bag of popcorn, chance ending up sitting next to the customer from hell, missing part of what's going on when taking a nature-break, all at your cost, in favor of just taking a free CD of the movie fixing a nice dinner at home and watching it at your leisure, having a bottle of wine or two and passing out on the couch after it's over. what's not to like about that?

I am sports lover by myself, I enjoy watching Eurosport Player, unfortunately I am travelling a lot, so sometimes in the country I am, Eurosport is blocked. My love for watching sports, made me look for alternatives, I just enjoyed relaxing while watching this channel from a hardworking day. One of my colleagues suggested me using a proxy, he is working with proxies since he is not travelling, but working online, from home, and sometimes his IP is banned in some countries. Once I heard how good works a proxy server, I started to look for it, but that was hard tho, since I am not expert in programming and so on, I just didn't really know what to look for, until I found iproyal.com, there was explained how a proxy works, and everything I needed to know to get it to work.
