Sram 9-speed brifters with an X7 derailleur?
Ok gang, I've got a bit of an odd setup that stems from taking my titanium hog touring. I have a 9 speed Sram X7 long cage RD, 11t-40t suntour cassette and bar end shifters. For gravel riding I want to get a brifter set up going but am having trouble finding a compatible match. It seems like all the Sram shifters that are 9 speeds are MTB style. I am wondering if Sram's 10 spd brifters would work with my RD or if there are any other options. The derailleur takes the teeth variance well so I was hoping to keep it.

My first guess is that it will work with 10 speed. They had a good thing going with exact actuation, but decided it worked too well. MTB and road used the same pull ratio.
