Great commentator line: "Difficult moments, for the man who would be king."
Flip Flop Rider , what was it you were saying about transfers? Tell me more! I invested heavily in pricey UK assets. I'm now counting on our Simon. Perhaps a little too much.

Jonathan Caicedo
If only I had put you down along with Fuglsang. I kept staring at Caicedo and wondering. This could be another good grand tour for EF. Good googly moogly Thomas finished like 12 minutes down...
I see at least slcbob and mtbrider had Visconti...

We all do at some point. Then the road offers its opinion.
They still may be good picks. It's a long way to Rome. And we better be glad it is, because there is a lot of yellow snow to make our way through.
Interesting picks throughout the league. We should see some ebb and flow. Perhaps some tomorrow.
Our Simon has already been picked, so I'll just leave it at saying we may see the air leak out of the hopes of some GC hopeful(s) tomorrow. The riders, and their fantasy DSs here. We live in interesting times.

There, thanks to the grace of a God with a sense of humor, goes I. Hasta la Vuelta, amigos!

So why isn't Caicedo in pink? He's tied with Joao but finished first on this stage so...?

etna channeled its inner vesuvius and we just got pompeiied and herculaneumed. not to fret...plenty of time yet to seemingly recover just to be cloaked in blankets of suffocating hot ash before stage twenty-one. it’s only lucy pulling the football away for the umpteenth time.

My team has rossetto, DeGendt, Craddock but are they going to stick around to protect Viviani,
edited to say I guess it helps to just visit the teams website huh? Wtf did I read about Ewan...
If there is a successful break it will be from a rider aerotucked on that descent. Seems like someone with strong TT skills that just lost his GC guy might do well. My pick is on Rohan.
Okay so apparently there's a 10mph side wind tomorrow along the final and DeGendt is available. Seems like the perfect stage for him then?

Ewan would stand more of a chance if he was in the race. But even if he was, there are still speed bumps.
And there are downhills for Zakarin, and bidons for G.
This'll never work. We're all doomed. - Glum

Only a 4% grade on the climb but like 19km long? Then a long, flat run to the finish seems like the teams could reel back anything unless it's like a crazy 12 minute gap.
My team has rossetto, DeGendt, Craddock but are they going to stick around to protect Viviani,Ewan, Cacaido? @USAZorro has pointed out that Ewan can't get past a speed bump so maybe DeGendt goes on a flyer?

I get the impression that Peter (I follow him on FB) is itching to set things right for missing the green in the Tour. I can see him and Bodnar getting in a break (they have worked well together like this during prior Grand Tours) to gain points at the two points. If Bodnar is in the break and hasn't blown himself up keeping Peter in the hunt, I can see him making a bid for the stage victory.

not exactly a red letter day for most in our little corner of the fantasy game. USAZorro and MTBrider and Winner Winner did pretty well tho. slcbob bridged some of the gap.
speaking of slcbob...how the bleep am i placed 50th on the gc after a terrocious stage 3 in our mano a mano endeavor?? this procyclingstats game does force you to pick every day
(or do it a few days in advance if you know you'll be swamped with work/family/vacation and you can apply multipliers to your pick(s). y'all might want to check it out since you can do
it stage by stage. the gc/team part of the game already sailed.

honestly have no idea how to pick stage four. big climb midway through but not decisively big and really far from the finish.
screams breakaway but doubting teams with sprinters will want to give up easily. thinking the breakaway gets caught in the nick of time.
going with matthews again ftw altho i also like GrainBrain's reasoning for dennis to win.

From one clip I saw it looked like it was a Bahrain-McLaren bidon that took out Geraint Thomas. Theirs wasn't the only ones skidding round on that fast descent and a few other riders narrowly missed a similar fate.
Nibali will be many people's favourite but there's still a long way to go.
