That Damn Song
Now I've got an ear worm. Aux Champs-Elysee. My wife is going to kill me if I don't stop singing it. What is it, anyways?

That's the problem with the Tour - repetitive commercials!!!
That jingle is not good for sure, but for me its always the Michelob Ultra jingles. They are tough to take and always annoy! But this year brought the Chevy pick up truck commercial - " remember your first bike? No, your first real bike?" and this tool is riding a road bike up a hill and bouncing up and down like a real amateur. Director probably told him to look like your trying really hard! Arghhh, shoot me! He is what I am trying to NOT look like!!!
But in the end, its all a small price to pay...

You might compare it to the Autobahn or Main St, it's a place in the mind and heart.

You mean I should pursue a career as an earworm remover?

My wife and I are both walking around the house singing it.
As if that weren't bad enough I just finished a book and the narrator had a way of speaking that reminded me of Phil Ligget so I read portions of the book with Phil's voice.

I have been singing it to my wife as its been stuck in my head too. My sister was in Paris on business the first week of Le Tour. When she returned I was singing it to her over the phone. She had no idea where I got it from. But she did get me some official Tour merchandise!!

I was thinking the song was perfectly constructed such that someone decades past high school French (like myself) could follow it (but the bouncing ball just in case), understand it (and translate to people w/o HS French like my wife) and feel all directly plugged in and stuff...

It's time to modernize
or better yet, the TdF should have it's own song (good vintage footage)

My daughter lived in France for a while and said the what we heard comes from a pop song over there. The French are funny people. Sort of.
