New road tattoo...street ink.
Got some street ink yesterday. Right in front of my house. Asked the workers if they could make the arrows point to my house and ad ""Bike Repair", maybe my phone number, hours of operation....

Does the chain go up over the seat stays and back down? Or is it a push bike?
LOL. THEY FORGOT PART OF IT. 🤣
they laid it out but didn't fill it. Must've been the B team.

On one hand, these ...um... alterations to the road surface may be helpful, especially since they often go along with posted signs that say something like, 'Bicycles may take full lane.' OTOH, they take off some of the top surface of the roads and turn smooth new surfaces into something like cobblestones.

I'm wondering why they 'cut' the road surface with the design in it, then painted it. It seems like it would increase rate of wear of the asphalt since the surface has been opened and it'll allow rain intrusion. That looks like a residential street so just paint the design on the original surface with a stencil and it should last for quite a few years.

I believe they rough up the surface before painting in order to make it more reflective and more visible with vehicle headlights. I don't think it affects the life of the pavement, since the asphalt is not water soluble.
