Street single-speed bike from Moscow, Russia.

While I find out the producer of my new frame, I make bicycle from it, for daily trips around the city and small cycling trips on

The requirements for a bicycle are quite simple - light weight, adjustable landing from "road" to "sports", the presence of wings, narrow handlebar, low maintenance requirements.

So, I bought spare parts:

1. Stem - TDS-D299N-8FOV (31,8mm) aka ZOOM TDS-D299N-8. Light weight, alloy, adjustable landing and small price.
2. Handlebar - MTB-AL-345BTFOV (31,8mm) 700ММ aka ZOOM MTB-AL-345BTFOV. Why? I do not like "ram", and this bar have a fairly comfortable bend. Will be cut to a length of 50-60 cm.
3. Adapter steering tube, aka "grenade" with 22,2mm (internal fork) to 28,6mm. Noname, but alloy.

4. Seat post VLX-SP01 (25,4mm). Why? Cheap and black. In Moscow, all the seat posts of 25,4 size are divided into "cheap" and almost identical and "wildly expensive." The difference - only in manufacturers, even the weight is the same.

5. System.
The choice was simple. Not very expensive, but not the worst. Carriage Shimano BB-LP28E and pedals Wellgo R-146 - on industrial bearings. The crankset SS-8101 is as light as possible at a reasonable price. Chain - KMC HL710 - the most common and cheap - вad roads and dirt are the reason for the frequent replacement of chains, and we choose mainly for the price.

6. Wings.
The best choice for lightweight and slim bike are Flinger SW-FE-113F/R 700С. Black color, narrow, light and quick-detachable. And cheap.

7. Wheelset. The most important. Our roads are like a field after the bombing, so the wheels should be durable, light, but cheap - the probability of breaking the wheel does not depend on its price, expensive carbon fiber also breaks on our roads. The wheels are assembled from spare parts. Silver color. Hubs on industrial bearings - Velobox VBRC-F01AB and Velobox VBRC-R03AB. The rims SHINING A-350 are silver and high - for durability and beauty. The tires will most likely be Kenda - cheap and not so bad. Cameras will be a Continental - the average for quality and price, there are everywhere, it's easy to change.

Until the wheels are assembled, brakes and freewheels are not bought - they are needs size selection.

Grips will be the cheapest rubber (remember about dirt and roads), brake knobs Tektro ML 330 or analog (the most common brand, cheap, reliable).

For your bad roads, be sure to get the biggest tires you can under those wings.

Well, camera = inner tube (tube), wings = fenders, yes )

It's not my apartment, it's my office. I am a audiologist, equipment is a museum corner, retro audiometers and hearing aids are presented )

Thanks )

Crocodile= New components on an old frame, no, new atypical components (many-speed to single-speed conversion, and so on)
Landing= Adjustable Stem, no. The term "landing" i use as term "riding position" - but i can change my r.p. by adjusting the angle of stem, yes )
Wings= Fenders, correct
Camera= Inner Tube, correct
Grenade= Threadless stem to Quill stem adapter, yes! And in Russia it is known only as "grenade" by its form )
Carriage= Bottom Bracket, correct

Thanks for the corrections, the best part to me is the differences in the word usage compared to the US, Its interesting to me, please use more as your build progresses.

The only one that i really cant get the association with is a "Camera= Inner Tube" . i just don't see the similarities.

In russian language, "camera" came from latin language - "camera" as "closed room", so now this term used for ANY closed space or device, an important part of which is a closed cavity. So, closed cavity of inner tube - camera )

@Anton_Rus, great looking bike so far, thanks for clarifying your terms for the components and other cycling items. I take it that you are either building your wheels, or having them built for you. Interesting choices for the various parts of your wheels, when they are ready please post a few pictures of them so we can see those hubs you described, they sound nice.

Looking forward to the next post of this build.

Bill

Sorry, but that stem is an atrocity. Cool bike otherwise.

Yes, that stem is too big. Today, in the final assembly, I will replace it with an adjustable one, but short. For harmony )

If you're going to replace it why use another adjustable stem? Figure out your rise and reach and put a proper (and maybe aesthetically pleasing?) piece in there.

The first trip. Evaluation of the quality of work and a list of future changes.

The weight is 10.375 kg.
The weight includes a smartphone with a cover on the steering wheel, a long seat post (total weight 354 grams, it is necessary to shorten by 2/3), heavy brakes ALHONGA HJ-422ADQ with Tektro brake pads (t have wanted to use the Tektro brakes, they have small weight, but our size is "47-59", and this model has a short fastening bolt, not fitted).

Tires Kenda 700c25, so i can put Continetal or Schwalbe to save about 100-200 grams of weight, but the difference in price is huge (Kenda costs $ 25, and Conti or Schwalbe $ 76-100 per wheel).

The saddle is temporary, tomorrow I will put the gift given by my wife - Brooks B17 Classic in brown.

What needs to change:
- put a longer stem, for 1-2 cm. And, may be, to increase the height handlebar for 1-2 sm.
- push the seat back 2 cm.
- put the rear wheel tensioners.
