Shopping at Home Depot

I was shopping for parts for a bathroom renovation when HD returned a link to a bottom bracket they sold, from Neco. They have 347 bicycle parts and accessories at low prices, free shipping. I don't recognize the brands. None of it was in stock at my local store.

Searching HomeDepot for Neco results in 13 products.
I chose not to check their pricing.

Everyone is selling random parts these days. Neco is not quality stuff at all. It is typically found on bottom end bikes usually online stuff from what I have seen.

The answer can be yes and actually better than buying something from the manufacturer's website. Recumbent trikes sometimes use shock cord to lace the mesh seat on the seat frame. The size is 6mm (1/4") and the seat on my one trike uses about 30 feet to lace the seat. One of the regular recumbent shops charges $32 plus shipping for a 30' piece. I can get 50 feet of the exact same cord made by T.W. Evans for $14 plus tax with free shipping to my local store just 3 miles away. https://www.homedepot.com/p/T-W-Evan...-050/205327121. I could buy it directly from T. W. Evans but the it would not only cost more but I would have to pay shipping. There were similar savings on the brass grommets used to make a seat from mesh fabric. Home Depot has them at the store much cheaper than buying them online.

Many big box stores sell stuff online that you would never see in their physical locations.

I don't want to know how you found that out... but I checked and you're right. I will make sure to reference you any time I tell someone this tidbit of information.

I simply searched their website after reading this thread. I was curious because I once saw some at my local RiteAid pharmacy. Last year I was touring across PA and noticed a large selection of lubes in a grocery store. I am pretty sure that was in Bellefonte, which is where Jerry Sandusky, assistant football coach at Penn State, was tried and convicted of child molestation.

Wow, that's a trip. Do a search on HomeDepot.com for "bicycle," and you get five pages of really bad bikes.
This might be the best one they have. A "Zukka"?

Most of these online sites now operate as customer-facing sales storefronts for third-parties. I don't like having to sift through a lot of Chinese sellers to find what a bricks/mortar place has (the better sites do make it easy to filter, but I don't find that to be universal).

Save $5 compared to a Interloc QB55 - in the short run anyway

And HT2 is $1-2 more than BB-MT800

None are in stock at your local Home Depot either. Those are simply items you can buy through their site, which are drop shipped.

HomeDepot contributes to political causes some people may find problematic. Might want to check JIC things like that are important.

Home Depot also purports to sell things online that they will not provide once you attempt to actually make the purchase. I found a reasonably priced trailer hitch for my van and made the purchase online, only to be notified days later by email that they could not fill the order and that I was not charged.

Walmart doesn't want to go the way of Kmart and Sears, as such they sell everything Amazon does through their on line store. I actually prefer them to Amazon. Once Amazon went to their own delivery service orders started disappearing in transit.

They sell things online that they don't carry in their stores that have nothing to do with their normal categories, (as do most other large online shops).

Nope, If Satan had a Big Box store, and he had the best price on sheet rock, that's where I'm buying it.

Then when Satan runs all the other businesses out of town, he jacks up the prices with his monopoly. Where have I seen this before?
