Hello! Looking for some period correct parts

Hi all, just joined the forum. I've been riding bikes since I was a kid, I recently have gotten the itch to ride around again on the trails by us. I have an 80's Trek Antelope 850. I'm trying to find more info on the bike and am looking for some O.E. tires for it along with an original style seat. I'm not sure if this bike has any value but it's near to me as this was my father's bike that I used to ride on with him when I was a small child. He had this bike till he passed a few years ago and now I'd like to keep this bike moving along in the future. But I would like to know where I can find what kind of seat and tires it may have originally had. Thanks

There have been a lot of TREK Antelopes; they used that model name for decades. Being an '80s model, i'm going to presume that it's a 26"-wheel ATB/MTB, right?

I wouldn't worry too much about finding the OE tires, if they're even made anymore. Most MTB's have moved from 26" tires, as well, but there's still some good ones out there. I'd recommend the Continental Town & Country It's a classic MTB/City/Touring tire that goes back to the early 90's and would be both period appropriate, and use appropriate for a bike like your Antelope.

Same goes for the saddle; it was a mid-level MTB, so it was probably just a plain black saddle, nothing like a Selle Turbo racing saddle or a Brooks.
Pick one that works for you, saddles are much better now than they were 30 years ago.

Yeah, a saddle is a very personal component. If your butt likes it; it better than original. Whatever original was. Unless you don't plan on actually riding the bike.
