I've seen those ridges on the tire before, but never put it together that they are for the generator...

Scored this 1981 Miyata 1000 with a very nice Brooks Flyer Special for $68 today. What's even more amazing, it was on Craigslist in bike crazy Portland for three days. May have helped that it was listed as a 'Migata' in the ad, made it fly under my radar too until a forum member posted the ad in the Ebay/Craigslist finds thread.

Compared to Sloar's find above maybe I overpaid?
The rear rim got damaged when the Trek 3700 came off the vehicular rack. Rest of the bike looks fine with good paint, well worth $10 from a yard sale.
The 2005 Fuji Ace with 27 speed Sora was a "make an offer" find at a yard sale. I had to settle at $70. It may be the best deal I have scored on a modern drivetrain road bike.
Collectively, the refurbished selling prices of these two bikes will cover the gorgeous Miyata track bike I got from OldsCool a week ago.

I have been looking for a 650B wheel set for a while, but all that I found were too expensive or too far away and still too expensive. Today I found a brand new pair on CL about 20 miles from home for $65. My wife wanted to go to a farmer's market and library in the same town, so I made the call and off we went. The wheels had Sun Cr-18 rims, DT stainless straight gauge spokes, and Shimano C201 hubs. The seller even threw in a new Sram 8 speed cassette. The wheels were still in the shrink-wrap. After the farmer's market buys and lunch at a local Italian restaurant, we had an enjoyable afternoon together for under $90.

Given the Klein logo on the the Down Tube, the bike looks to be a 1994. Color looks to be called Sable Haze

Got some consolation today, though:
Bertoni Nuovitalia in Electric Rose (in an admittedly poorly framed cell phone picture).
Apparently the lowest in the Bertoni lineup, but it came with Shimano 600 components (except the bars, brake handles and calipers). Paint's faded in several areas and there are a couple rust spots, but there are no dents and everything works perfectly. Super twitchy, probably due at least in part to the width of the riser bars. The seller said he was pretty sure he listed it for less than it was worth (SPOILER: he did), because there was another interested party ready to buy it sight unseen. So, I'm almost certain I just beat another C&V'er to the punch. Sorry, whoever you are... but not that sorry.

'66 Carlton Catalina in rough cosmetic condition. Reynolds 531 Plain Gauge, Capella lugs. Traded straight across for a set of cyclesmith panniers. It was built up from a donor Le Tour, GB stem was the only original bit. Love the handy work.

Given the addition of a purple to blue fade, it appears the previous owner was infatuated with the '88 Schwinn Premis model.

The Puch looks just like one I used to have (the rear half at least). There should still be some old pictures of it on the CR site, the model name is Olympian, nice riding bike.

I found this late 80s (not sure what exact year) Schwinn Mirada in the garbage a year or so ago. This is a photo I took the day I found it.
The rear wheel was jammed into the non-drive side chainstay because it was crooked on the dropout. I straightened it (nothing bent, the axle was just installed at a weird angle) and had a ridable bike. With some basic maintenance it was good to me over the last year. Here's a photo from a week ago:
It is currently disassembled. Here's my thread:
