Anyone using the Vittoria Randonneur Cross Tires for Bicycle Touring???

How are they and how do they hold to flat protection ???
in 700c and 26in

26X1.75 44-559 590grams 45-70psi

I am thinking of using the Vittoria Randonneur Cross Tires in 26X1.75in for my Surly LHT 26in

I used the 700c versions for a few thousand miles of on and off pavement touring, and I don't recall ever getting a flat. That being said, as time went on I discovered I preferred wider, lighter tires.

But if you're looking for sheer endurance at a decent price, they're fine.

I had the 700x35 on my T2000. They are nice tires, especially for the price. Fast, and few flats. Not sure about longevity.

They came stock on a new bike I bought a few years ago. I wore them out to where the multilayer protection started showing after a few thousand miles of rough city commuting. I had only one flat and it was from a woman's earring that was sticking straight up like a nail sitting on its head; that would have flattened any tire. If your staying on paved roads I would say that I found the tire to be grippy to a fault; too much tread. think the price for what you get is good on the Vittorias, but after having several other tires since then, I find that the money spent on Schwalbe Marathon Supremes is money better spent.

I have those in 26x1.75 on my LHT. They've got a few thousand miles on them commuting and have never had a flat. Should work well for touring, as well.
