KHS Super Racer, BMX or road bike
I found this KHS Super Racer at a yard sale a few weeks ago. It appears to be a BMX, because of the size, but it has 20 x 1 3/8" road bike type tires on it, as well as a 5 speed shifter on the handlebar stem.
KHS on their website, and on Facebook are totally useless on obtaining any information about this bike. I tried a serial number search, but all the serial numbers I have found online, show an alpha prefix. Mine has nothing. just 41000189. The first number is supposed to be the year of manufacture. Since the company started in 1974, I wonder if this is a first year production bike.
Also, the bike frame is brazed, and by 1980, there were no brazed frames in the KHS lineup, that I have found.
Here is the logo
I am just trying to find out anything about this bike.
I can't see my photos posted in this, so if anyone wants to see a photo, go here, DSCN3585 | Tequila Brad
and the logo is here, DSCN3591 | Tequila Brad

Looks like a scaled-down step-through model. So it's a girl's bike, and not BMX at all.

I vote for 1984. The decals are the same as those I have seen on early 1980s KHS. In the 1970s KHS was using a different logo. No Coat of Arms, just letters KHS.
