What is your Winter project for this season?
Me, I have a Mondonico mono stay out at Allan Wanta's shop for paint. I'll be dismantling my old carbon Look frame for the bits. I'll still keep her though. I'll post pics when I begin.

We have year-round cycling here in coastal San Diego County, but my next bicycle project is to get the full db 531 1960 Capo Sieger cleaned up, spot painted, reassembled, and back on the road.
Having recently done timing belt jobs on the Passat and the three Audis (elder son's A4 shown), I should have time for house and bike work.

Sorry to got off subject, but my '99 Passat wagon has 270K on her and still going strong.

Actually...cleaning of my entire stable...and doing a great job of photographing them...so that I can share the entire stable with great photography (if I can achieve that!)...

Don't apologize, Highgear -- I still consider the B5/B5.5 generation Passat wagon (ours is a 2001, right before the 2001.5 B5.5 facelift) to be the best-sized, best-configured car ever designed. To keep this on a bicycle theme, I do keep an assembled set of crossbars and bike racks hanging from the garage rafters, ready for quick attachment to the roof rails.

My winter project is going to be tackling a wheel build.
I've got some nice Weinmann rims with some Maillard hubs and some nice Sanshin hubs on some not so nice Araya wheels. I'm going to try swapping them out.
Which reminds me... I was going to start a thread to ask one of those deep, personal questions about bike parts...

Although I have fewer bikes than you have listed- I still have problems going out to the garage and choosing which bike to ride!

Stripping the paint off an '85 Nishiki frame/fork Sport thingy (about 90% done - the last 10% of the paint is about half the effort)
- braze a second set of bottle bosses; a set of rear rack bosses; a set of front rack bosses; and DT shifter bosses
- powder coat it myself at my local Tech Shop
- build it up with an '80s Shimano 600 group removed from this bike build (I just sold / gave away the black frame and fork from this build....)
- My goal for the Nishiki is to have the only black bit on the bike be the tires - I'd like to get gum hoods, Cambium seat, tan/brown tape. I'm hoping I can fit some pretty fat 700C tires in the frame, which I think was originally 27in wheels.
I've also got a green Raleigh (just powder coated) in the first link above. It's getting built up as a single speed / cruiser that I hope to switch to an IGH later next year - depending on funds. In the mix of photos, it's the black beat up frame, no fork. I had a fork laying around and powdered them both green. Did NOT do a great job of it, but it was my first effort. If my wife lets me spend any more money, I'd like to build up a set of Shimano 600 tri color hubs into working wheels for an old race bike I have and love - but not as much as I love my wife! Ha!

wrk101, Is that a bike garage or car garage? I have one bay for bikes and tools, but I could really use a second. Scrapped the idea to build a new two car detached garage last year.

OH...and for actually doing things with bikes...probably tear my RB-1 down and get it repainted...it has some rust in the lugs/tubes joints...hard to do anything with...so...get it totally stripped and repainted, for longevity sake. Given the simple paint job (yellow/white one)...I have little concern about "original" paint on this one...

Lotus Supreme and 86 Miyata Team are going to be built up finally, once I get the framesets back from Zeni Cycles. Pretty excited. The Miyata has been stripped and powdercoated to show off the fully chromed fork and partially chromed chain/seatstays. I had a period DA group and wheelset ready to go for the Miyata but happened upon an 8-speed 7410 group for very cheap. Haven't decided which one to go with yet.

Nothing exciting, unfortunately. Raising some funds by (finally) selling some bits & pieces and a couple nice frames. It's just that I HATE packing & shipping frames. I do it well, but I don't find it fun.

Not a winter project, but a project for
the winter. As soon as my daughters finished with her gymnastics practice I can get home and finish my drop bar conversion on my mtb. The brake levers arrived in the mail right when we were leaving.

Allan Wanta is good people. He didn't do my paint job but he did hook me up with decals for my paint job. Very nice guy.
