I don't know what that has to do with how much steerer is sticking out of the headtube.[eehh whatever. It related to it somehow!

I'm new here.
Interesting reading to see what people are riding!
My roadie is an old Miele (about 1990), steel, 12 speed. I keep thinking it's time to trade up but to what?
It's comfortable on the roads around here that leave the aluminium riders with dancing eyeballs.

Here's my new ride - 2005 Mercier Corvus AL. Same exact bike as some of the Moto's I've seen on here, just different badges. I added a Flightdeck to it; bottles and cages are on their way.... Maybe some of you vet's can tell me why my front wheel came laced straight, and my back on crossed? Strength? Got it for $650 on Ebay, let me know if I got a good deal or got sold.
Thanks! Anybody in the Covallis, OR area?
[EDIT] Sorry 'bout all the typos, guess I can't blast punk rock and type at the same time

New to forum, lots of great info. Just picked up a Specialized Rubaix Comp, love it! Previous "road" bike was a Dean tri bike. Those days are gone and it just didn't fit right. The new bike is much better for what I'm now doing.

Just got the brakes Friday - here is my ultimate bike. Completely rideable (no "weight limit" parts except maybe the wheels per AC), and nothing too out of the ordinary.

Chris King HS, no spacers
Easton SLX fork
Syntace F99 120mm stem w/ (6) M5x15mm ti bolts

Cinelli black cork tape
Dura Ace cables
Dura Ace STI levers
USE Alien 27.2 270mm post
Selle Italia SLR Carbon (the original with no padding)
DG 31.8mm clamp with M5x15 ti bolt
Dura Ace front der. with alloy braze-on bolt and alloy clamp bolt (34.9mm) and ti cable bolt
Dura Ace rear der. with hollowed out alloy pulley wheels bolts and ti cable bolt
Token 2 piece all alloy 12-23 9-speed cassette with alloy lockring
SRAM PC-99 hollow pin chain
Token Scandium ISIS BB 68x108 with M14x20mm alloy bolts
Forte Pro compact carbon crankset 50x34 at 172.5mm with alloy bolts
Forte Pro magnesium body / titanium spindle Look-style pedals
Zero Gravity Ti '05 brakes (all ti and alloy 186gr with black pads)

Vetta V100 wireless PC
And yes, on my Rapala digital fishing scale, 14 lbs. 14 oz. complete. Not too shabby....

i normally hang out in the fixed/ss forum, so go easy on me...
mostly thrown together from odd and mismatched bits:
frame/fork: 57cm gt titanium, easton ec90 aero
drivetrain: 8 speed 600 w/dura ace brifters
wheels: 28 hole 600 laced to gp4 tubular in the rear w/15g wheelsmith (2x), 36 hole campy record hub to 24 hole gp4 tubular in front w/15g wheelsmith (2.17x)
stem/bars: 40cm modolo bars with mossibly the ugliest stem in human history, but hey, 140mm stems are hard to find.
..and..you know...some other stuff.
