I always take tubes on rides
if for no other reason - for other riders with skinny clinchers that didn’t have them properly inflated

On me - watch, heart rate monitor, phone, license, credit card, a few bucks, gels or a snack if going for more than an hour and keys
Bike - computer, water bottles and saddlebag which contains a tube, levers, CO2 cartridge and inflator tool, patch kit, multi tool, a pair of nitrile gloves and a short phone charging cable
EDIT - and a helmet! Can’t believe I forgot that!!

It’s a 1M iPhone cable. The blocks they plug into are everywhere and I’m betting I can find one of those at a cafe or store and recharge. I should start carrying a small battery charger to take some of the “chance” out of it, but I rarely go more than 25-30 miles at a time nowadays.

Every ride, every bike...
- Helmet, gloves, shoes, glasses
- Tool/tube kit (I have different kits for road, gravel, and MTB)
- Phone
- Heart rate strap
- Wahoo computer
Ride under 1 hour...
- 1 small bottle (water only)
Ride over 1 hour, but less than 2...
- 2nd small bottle (both with light dose of Skratch mix)
- 1 energy gel
Road ride over 2 hours...
- 2 large bottles (moderate dose of Skratch mix)
- 2+ energy gels (usually 1 per hour +1 more)
Gravel or MTB ride over 2 hours...
- 2 bottles (moderate dose of Skratch mix)
- Hydration pack (water only)
- 2+ energy gels, plus another snack.
I tend to prefer carrying stuff in my jersey pockets, rather than on the bike, including tool/tube kits.

Six Gap 2016 rear cable went. Limit screw only allowed 16th rear placement but at least front was 39th. STILL NOT EASY AND NO FUN happening at 92 miles of 103, close to the 11,000+ feet already completed plus almost 66 years old.
