Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Better Alternative: Cinelli Caleido Black Bar Tape

Does anybody know where I can get better bar tape that looks like the Caleido?

Love the design of the Caleido except alot of people say its extremely cheap feeling. Is there a better variant from a better company? Lizard skins, etc?

Fizik 3mm tape. It ain't cheap at 25-35 a roll, but it's the most comfortable tape I've used, looks great, and stays clean even when riding singletrack on my cross bike. My cross bike has white tape too.

I use the Caleido and it feels fine. I don't know what qualifies as "cheap" feeling though, so these "alot of people" are kind of confusing me on their criteria.

Looks aside, the Caleido tape has a dense feel to it, medium thickness, very little stretch, with smooth grip texture, which is what I like.

Just get the Caleido, there is no other bar tape that has the same look (multi-colored perforations). However I can imagine there are ways to get a similar effect by garage engineering a combo of some other perforated bar tape with a layer of colored electrical tape underneath.

Similar but with a bit of stitching is the Serfas "Two-tone" in black (both tones are black, so don't ask me why they call it this). Perforations only go part of the way across, but since you have overlap on the tape anyway, it is similar idea.

Here's another example of the "multicolor perforations which no one other than Cinelli does" that Busyman makes:

I don't mean to offend, but Busyman's handmade work isn't something you can pick up in a store. When I said no one else makes it, I excluded self employed craftsmen. So you know, it'd be nice if you weren't so "I told you so" about it.

I don't mean to offend, either, but it would be nice if you said what you meant, didn't introduce requirements the OP didn't make, and refrained from definitive statements about stuff you're definitely uncertain about.

Electrical tape or neon day-glo nail polish.

I spoke from my own experience with the knowledge about existing products I have off the top of my head, I've never heard of Busyman, so excuse my ignorance. I'm not going to troll Etsy for the OP. If I'm wrong in your eyes that fine, but I don't understand your insistence on being an e-warrior about it. It's bar tape for godsake.
