Do you still have the extra seat post for sale? Or any other parts from your Sirrus? Looking at upgrading a few parts on my 15.

Post is sold, sorry. I only have the stock PAVE Carbon for sale. Rest of the available parts are stock pulls: 105 11speed FD, seat, handlebars and bar ends, FSA Gossamer crank and BB. What are you looking to upgrade? I've taken my Expert to beyond Pro levels.

I was hoping to upgrade some of the cheaper stuff soon: crankset, handlebars, seat post, pedals to shed a little weight. Need to do wheels also but haven't found anything yet. Where are you located? I'm guessing NY by your username.

I bought the Edge 25 and it works very nice. When I approach an intersection it counts down the meters and says if I have to go left or right. It's very accurate. It's simple navigation but for my needs, it's perfect. The only thing is that you have to know the starting point. But thats no problem.

When you're standing still the map is turning around, but when you're on your bike it's stable. For simple road navigation is a very nice tiny thing.

It captures the route when you're cycling without a course. Making a route is very simple true Garmin Connect.

EDIT:
Today I cycled 30 km and I got often an Off-course alert. Hopefully the software update will correct some things.

I also generally have a pretty good sense of direction, and so while driving, have set off many times just to see where a road lead to. In short, grew up driving by the seat of my pants. But I realize many people can't do this, or are not comfortable with doing this. However, in those circumstance where I do need map help, Google Maps on my smartphone comes through.

Thanks for the follow up post. Good to hear that it is working well for you. Nothing beats hands on from people who have them.

I edited my post ;-). Got some off-course moments today. The direction was okay but the line was a little on the edge of the screen. Got an off-course warning but I'm sure that I was on the right road. I will send an e-mail to support. I'm curious what they have to say on that.

Still prefer the look of the pre-2015 Sirrus and if in the market for a new carbon flat bar bike today, would buy a Roubaix and put flat bars on it.
I've wondered about going to a 1x setup for some time. The double in front is equivalent to about 2 sprockets in the rear, so in many senses, a 1x11 is similar to a 2x9.

I couldn't live with a 40T up front though, even with a 10T in the rear. But, I suppose it would be a small change to add a 50T or larger front chainring. I could still climb walls with the 42T rear.

Jumps in the cassette would be a pain though, (10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-42).

FWIW, my Garmin GPS watch has recorded marks well outside of where I actually was on multiple occasions. My phone has done the same. I work with surveyors that use very expensive GPS equipment, and they occasionally have issues. Just seems to be a "thang" with GPS. Still interested to know what Garmin has to say on the subject.

Side note, for whatever reason, if my phone locks on to GPS really fast, the watch has allot of trouble locking on. If the phone has trouble locking on, then the watch locks on in a few seconds. Don't know why that is, but has been pretty consistent.

Hi guys, new here - not much of a forum guy, but came across this discussion while researching the 2016 Sirrus.

My current hybrid is a 2013 Crosstrail Pro Disc. It's been a great bike, and we've had some epic adventures together.

I'm contemplating upgrading to the 2016 Sirrus because I love the way my carbon road bike feels - light as air.

This is your decision of course, but if you already have a carbon road bike I don't know that you'd get much else out of the Sirrus Pro Carbon, which is one of the most road-bike-ish hybrids on the market.

You'd be paying a lot of money to cover ground that you're already covering with a proper road bike.

Hi ...just new here, as I was looking to find similar problem cases as I had with my Specialized Sirrus Expert 2015.

I am not an expert in these technical parts with /from bikes, just got this bike for my 60 birthday, and I just love it ( drove an old Raleigh alu trekking bike which was 20yo, then a E-bike flyer....but that was nothing for me, so I start looking over the internet, and came out on a Koga and the Specialized. The Koga was faster but was not so easy in the fast corners it wanted to keep going in a straight line, the Specialized was more versatile, and as I do a lot of city riding too, this was my choice.

After 6 months, the crank was coming loose, and the shop replaced some washers( I could not see or exactly hear, but the mechanics in the shop, were shaking their heads, they also had a lot of problems to get it out.

After this was done, I maybe rode another 50 km, and the same problem came with a knackering noise.
I went back and then they replaced the complete crank with some other brand, since then no problems anymore.

Now 5 months later my friend who purchased at the same time a Specialized Secteur, got the same problem, he said to me , hear this and immediately I pushed his pedal arm left to right and you could see the complete crank ad chain blade moving.
As we are in Spain in vacation, we were lucky to have a Specialized dealer in the next village, and the guy shook his head and recognized the problem.
He too, took no risk and replaced the complete crank, gave us a detailed invoice and the old crank and adviced us to show it to our dealer.

I searched on several websites for an email address of specialized and found one, I wrote them an email with my complaint and if they recognized the problem, and would address it on their safety/recall part of the website, but they did not even make the effort and politeness to answer me...
shame on you Specialized.
But I love/ like my bike
cheers
dude

I have already upgraded the bars to the Carbon Jones loop bars and the wheels i have changed to the mavic ksyrium pro's.
Ive changed the brakes to Shimano XT but i want to upgrade the crank now so what would be your suggestions?

Cheers

Pretty much your only choice is SRAM Force 1 or a FSA Carbon Crank. You won't gain anything other than looks and a tiny bit of weight savings. I'd wait till you wear out the stock FSA chainring before replacing. I've got the same 2017 Sirrus X1. Your best investment is better wheels.

Cheers I've changed the wheels to mavic ksyrium pro's, bars to Jones carbon loop's, brakes to Shimano XT's, pedals to Specialized boomslangs and a Brooks saddle.

What are you doing with the original components you have replaced?

Do you have another bike you can put them on, or are you considering buying another frame of some sort to be a back up bike?

No
I did buy a Specialized fat bike at the same time but I hated it so I got shot of it.
I will just keep the original bits as spares or something

Wow! You've got a bunch of money invested in this bike. Interesting handlebars...I've never heard of those. I had to look them up. What's your goal with the bike? Are you trying to get the weight down or just have nice components? My assumption is the latter since the Brooks and handlebars weigh a good bit more than stock. I have a set of Force 1 carbon cranks on my gravel bike, and they are nice.

Other than contact points, I haven't changed anything on my Sirrus X1. I'll likely build some wheels this winter, but it's a commuter/town bike for me. I don't want to put too much into it.

Ive now ditched the bars and the Brooks and I've added a carbon Specialised saddle along with the Sram force x1 carbon cranks and a Specialised carbon bar with carbon bars ends.
Your correct the crank is really nice.
Going to do the stem next but not sure where to go with it? any suggestions?

The bike is more of a hobby now, i love riding it. I've already lost 2 stone this year, completely cut out added sugar, all junk food and almost defeated type 2 diabetes.

Congratulations on the weight loss! There's nothing more satisfying than seeing measurable results.

Did you have to change the bottom bracket to use the Force 1 cranks?

Post some pics when you get a chance. Your bike sounds great.

As far as stems go, I usually stick with aluminum. They tend to weigh the same or less than carbon stems, and they usually have more options as far as degree rise is concerned. I'm pretty tall, so I always need a 10, 12 or 17 degree stem to get me in the right position depending on the bike. I like the 12 degree stem that comes stock on the Sirrus. I've looked for a 12 degree carbon stem, but I had no luck finding one.

Hi guys I just purchased a Sirrus expert and also am changing the cranks to sram force, I've seen a guy here get a 46t ring but I might get 42t, any recommendations. Also wondering the same thing with the bottom bracket if the BB30 crank will fit the stock megoevo BB on the Sirrus

You'll need a SRAM GXP bottom bracket. The FSA bottom bracket is wider to accommodate the FSA 386 standard.

Chainring size is dependent on your needs. I wouldn't be able to climb hills around here with a 46t.
