on my way to have a look at my first bike
i have no knowledge really of cycling. im off to look at this bike as my first road bike for general fitness really.

Sounds risky to me. Since you have no knowledge of cycling, you won't know if it's the correct size. Or if there is something mechanically wrong with it that needs attention. Have you visited a bike shop? Have any friends that cycle? Done any research?

No ive only looked at a size converter online and it says that this is roughly the right sized bike for me.
Ive done a small amount of research about what to look for on a first bike and this one seemed to tick a lot of the boxes.
i definitely dont know how to look out for faults.
I havent told the dude I would buy it i just said i was going to go and try it.
I was planning on just testing it out, if it ran smoothly id probably shoot him an offer. Is this a bad idea?

If it looks and rides nice, feels like it fits, and you aren't spending a ton of money on it, it's hard to lose much here. Post back when you have more questions.

You will be so much more comfortable with a bike that fits you. I would figure that out a local shop, then look around for that size in your price point.
