I have a 2005 Marin Venezia, I absolutely love this bike. It is definitely much better than that 45lb. hunk of department store steel mountain bike that I was riding around on. No clue how much it weighes tho. I am guessing somewhere in the 15lb. to 30lb. range.

Newbie to road bikes... Out with the old and in with the new!
My old ride is a '03 Diamondback Apex. Mostly XT componentry and I've done a Metric Century with her. She's a good bike but a bit of a tank at 31lbs. 15oz. in ride trim.
My new ride is a '05 Scattante CFR. Just got her last night and took her for a spin this morning. Heaven on wheels for the easy 12 miles cruise I just got back from. I still need to make my fine tuning adjustments but I'm already in love with this bike.

I re-built my 2003 Domina S-Works with Ksyrium SSC SL's, a full-on ti bolt setup from Hyperbolts.com and dropped its weight to 16 lbs. 12 oz. with Vetta V100 PC and pedals per my Rapala digital fish scale.
Sadly, I have not ridden the bike in over 2 years - it's so sharp and now, even better - just a shame to swing a leg over it and cause it any pain....
Wait until Monday for another posting on this link - Calfee Tetra with an impressve ti / alloy bolt kit. The pic below is without the magnesium / ti pedals and Zero Gravity brakes (delivery tomorrow). As this one sits right now misssing JUST these 2 items, it is 13 lbs. 15 oz. The final build should be around 14 lbs. 13 oz. with PC and pedals.

Does that fork on the Kestrel have a carbon steerer? Is it safe to have that much spacers on it then? It's almost as long as the headtube
