Bike computer for the road and on a trainer?

Hello all,

What I am looking for in a computer is to track distance, average speed, current speed, max speed, and wireless is a must. Cadence, rechargeable, and GPS would be nice, but not a must.

My budget is 150 or less.

So, what would a be a nice bike computer that fits my must haves, for road (cycling), and trainer use?

Thanks,
RH

Any decent wireless computer, in your price range, that offers cadence will do what you want except for being rechargeable and GPS enabled. Before using my iPhone as my bike computer, I had a Cateye Strada Double Wireless computer that worked extremely well for me for about two years. It was under $90.00 (currently $79.00 at Performance Bike) and each of the CR2032 batteries, in both the computer and the sensor, were only changed no more than twice while I had it. And that's using it on 2-3 hour rides daily. Unless you find something used or as a closeout model, I don't know of any GPS enabled computer in the $150.00 or less range.

As an alternative, you can use your smartphone as a bike computer and have everything you are asking for in your price range, including GPS. The Wahoo RFLKT ($79.00) and the Wahoo Blue SC ($59.99) is what I use. The only other thing you will need is a subscription to a cycling app that supports the RFLKT.

Any computer will work if you put the magnet on the rear wheel.
