i actually really like the frame. but the added yuckiness just washes out all it's potential. it's like a beautiful girl stuck in the 80's with big hairsprayed hair and blue eyeshadow. bleh. and this gold nitto stuff is just nasty. i think it would look like cheap sex on any bike.
and agreed ... zipties, rear brake ... what?

someone needs to save that frame from continued embarrassment. it's like a poodle that just got it's hair cut, you know it knows how hideous it looks. poor thing. my heart goes out to that frame.

couldn't find a Gold brake?
or gold zipties?
Gold housing exists, so he doesn't have an excuse there.
and a silver Golfinger lever? poor form.
There's 3 more shades of clashing gold he could've had. Potential wasted.

I'm assuming that he has the rear brake because he didn't want to ride brakeless, but didn't want to drill the fork. I can respect that. Although, why not just buy a new fork to use for commuting? And why not take off the brake for the pictures. If you're going to the trouble of taking pictures for FGG, take off the brake. Its only 3 zipties and a 2 bolts.

He bought that frame on eBay a month or two ago for about $1100. The original frame was gorgeous. This is really disappointing. Now you see why people are reticent about selling Nagasawa's to unknown buyers.

Don't they make a bolt-on brake for the front too?

The scariest part is that he actually rides it..
Tell me this guy is on the forum. Call the hipster out and burn him!
Also, I know it's a big no-no to reveal wholesale prices, but that crankset alone is nearly $300..

I saw that bike in another incarnation, sporting a road fork/brake and bullhorns. Heinous then, and that was pre cheapo gold freakout. I hate hating on people's bikes (and he's a really nice guy)-- But GOOD GOD MAN! Ugh.

That gold sweet tooth was anything but cheap... Montanovelo was probably salivating at the goldmine (ha) this guy was itching to spend once he walked in the door with that eBay purchase.
