Klein Qunatum - hot pink! Value?
Hi. My wife has a Klein Quantum race bike. However much she loves it (for over a decade), she is wanting something a lot more stable and a lot less nimble. It is quite a ride, what I imagine what harry potter feels like on his broom.
Any thoughts on the value - and where might one go to sell this lovely gem?
Here
are some images.

Assuming that Portland and Sacramento are the two largest closest bike-centric markets, CL or FB Marketplace for a start.
Since both are 300-ish miles from CP, expect to drive halfway to meet up with a potential buyer, which has its own issues to consider.
If willing to ship, eBay is your best bet, worldwide potential marketplace. I’d clean it up, replace the splash tape first.
Ultimately, however, not a huge amount of value there…although Klein has its fans.

Los Angeles area info:
I sold mine for $200, but it had some bubbling paint.
There was one with DA7400 and bubbling paint that just sold for $200ish and was then re-listed at $445
Lots have been listed at $500 and lingered
Current LA listings (12-ish)run from $445 to $750 with varying condition and model - most have been listed for weeks or months
a good cleaning would help

Something I noticed. Clean the bike, and components. Put a new seat on it. Doesn't have to be an expensive seat. It will make the bike look more presentable fresher.
Sort of surprised the market isn't stronger out there for the Klein, but it's mostly the frame people want. I have had those exact same components on this bike and sold it for $330 in 2018. The components are fine, but don't add much value besides the name.......
(I hate drop bars, and that's why the bars are back, I will never ride another vintage road bike again after owning four, to each his own)

The more I look at the Klein the more it reminds of anther bike I had.....very similar frame with the obvious exception of size. This was purchased as a flip moons ago, and took a while to move. Sold for $200 in 2010.

It's a pre-buyout Klein, so that's good, and that colour is pretty bananas. The parts spec will hold it back a bit, but these things definitely have their fans.

The no frame decals thing is the biggest detractor for me.

Paid $500 for Quantum Race in the bay area. Defintely feel like I overpaid, like StarBiker says, its really the frame Klein fans are after. If you are handy, you could part it out and sell the group, wheels, and frame seperately and get more money. I'd actully be kinda interested in buying that group if you decide to do that.

I don't think I have paid $500 for 20 bikes......but I am a rascal...
The more I look at the bike it looks like a neon red.
