Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I like it, too, but it is different. A friend was put off by it saying something like it wasn't respectful of the original, which I don't think is a concern.

A dollar apiece cut and threaded. I might consider them, if they are still open. I haven't dealt with them post Covid, and it's a small shop. But still, for the type of riding I do these days, I think the first plan will do fine. I am in the process of building a set of tubular wheels with Campy Record hubs and used spokes from my stash. That Amazon order is for glue, at 1/3 the price I can get it here, including the shipping. Worse, and what has me possibly concerned enough to go with new spokes, is that some are double butted and some are straight gage. Even I don't like to do that. The glue isn't expected until 11/9, so I have time. Ordered 9/18.

We usually end up turning it on mid-to-late October. When the daytime high inside the house doesn't exceed 65F for a week, it's time to turn on the heat.

No dice there, but aren't you a little old to be mobile-first?

I felt ancient last week when one of our young devs said she had never used a credit card website before working on ours; she had just always used apps.

Getting my wife an Ipad 8 gen with a keyboard and mouse for christmas. Everything is compatible.

Her computer is over 13 years old, and I figured this would work well as a replacement. Do any of you see any reason why this wouldn’t work?

I find such things very limited, but she may not.

In the spoke department, big john , the Bavel goes to 295. I need 297 and 299. I found Sapim Race, 298, for a dollar apiece. More than I like to pay for spokes. But the times seem to be changing...And only 32. I need 36.
I'll sleep on it.

In my opinion, Word and Excel are not exactly wonderful on the iPad. I use an iPad with a keyboard for work emergencies when we sail and travel and it works but it's a pain.

What makes it a pain? Just want to know if it’s something she wouldn’t mind.

Selecting text without a mouse bothers me the most. Using a finger or the Apple pencil on the screen is pretty frustrating. Then, the system for storing and locating files is also kind of clunky compared to a real computer. Everything seems to take about twice as long. On the other hand, I'm 64 years old...

64 years young. I can see how that would be a pain. I already picked out a mouse and key board set, that should help that problem. I also plan on getting her the apple pen later on.
Do you have any problems with people not being able to open your documents that you send from the Ipad?
