Santa is polling us for the most popular items. His elves are all tooled up. Let the list begin!

Looks like an old time traditional Christmas this year. A visit with family and hope everyone gets a lump of coal for the fire so we'll be warm.

With employment worries and such, Christmas is gonna be pretty much kids only this year at our place, so no new gadgets will be brought by Santa for me.

So far I see:

Garmin 705
Brooks saddle
Garmin 605
Lump of coal
MTB crankset
Whole bike
Fenix L2D
Erector set . . .

Only 3 out of those items appear bike-related and none of those are specific. If you all are not more clear I'll just drop coupons for inner tubes in your stockings and save my elves a lot of work.

The Fenix L2D isn't bike specific, and that's part of the appeal of the product. I've used mine for many other things (outdoor concert after dark, fixing the bathroom exhaust fan, etc...) when I would have used another flashlight because the Fenix works better. A lot better. The smaller size and lighter weight helps make it a better bicycle specific light and a better flashlight too. The lockblocks are bicycle specific, and if Santa's a savy shopper he'll go for the three pack to save the elves some work in the future. And Santa would make the lucky person getting the Fenix happier if some rechargable batteries and charger to make the gift complete, assuming they've been good enough.

Starting next Monday (11/17) the Costco coupon book has a $9 off coupon for an Eneloop package: 8AA, 2AAA, 4 each C and D size adapters, and a smart charger. I have no idea what the cost will be, but I bet it's a deal!

I got the same ad from Costco, but noticed every coupon in the mailer was only valid at the new store they're opening that's about 45 minutes away from me. That ended my desire to go check those out.

Shimano's new DURA-ACE 7900 set with electronic shifter. That will be a late Christmas present, as this doesn't come out till Jan. 1.

Sorry, the elves vacation in the Bahamas for a couple weeks after the Big Push. You'll have to depend on other sources anyway.

I rode a 7900-equipped bike on Friday (mechanical, not electronic).

Want!! Cannot afford!! *repeat*

But I'd settle for... oh... a Fenix LD01 to clip to my helmet visor
