Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? This guy did some serious mods to the same size 2010 Sprint to compete in FG TT.

This bar is available in 31.8 and is very similar. Might be worth checking out.

I've owned a different bar from the same manufacturer and it was good quality.

@50voltphantom, I am running a 40/21 (which is super spinny), but makes ripping around in the woods pretty fun. In retrospect, an 18 tooth freewheel might have been a better option.
@Mumonkan, I agree. I had a gold seatpost collar, but it was the wrong size. The Thomson in my parts bin fit, so I went with that (a gold collar is still likely in the future. As for the hubs, that's definitely going to have to wait a while.

I also plan to give this a run as a fixed gear on the streets, too.

Thanks dude! Me and a buddy had them made up a little while back. It's all in fun of course, I mean I've got a road bike as well.

Having ridden in the woods all weekend on my Steamroller, I heartily endorse this.

It unfortunately did not involve quite as much tracklocrossing as I hoped; I'd like to get messy with this thing a little more. Still very good times, and I love this stupid bike more every time I ride it.

Haha, yeah I ran 39/19 (38/19 was my plan but I ran out of dropout) riding mtb trails all weekend and it worked really well while not being too spinny on the way there. 2:1 ratio seems to be about perfect. It was so much fun I can't stop thinking about it.

Same here. My makeshift CX setup has proven more capable than I expected and is so fun.

Yeah, ripping around in the woods (small as the area was) turned out to be more fun than I expected. I need to find more rideable trails near me now.
That said, I'm enjoying the versatility of the Work frame.

I also took my track bike on an "off-road" adventure, too. Light gravel on some well worn hiking paths.

Hmmm idk honestly. My friend has a bunch of them but we haven't really been making an effort to do sell them to anyone other than random local folks we ride with.
