Schwalbe Big Apple vs Maxxis DHT (26 x 2.3+)
Anyone commuting on either of these?
I was riding Bontrager Hanks, but they're pretty much done for and are apparently no longer available.

I commute on Big Apples and love them. I had originally planned to purchase Maxxis Hookworms, but 2.5's wouldn't clear my frame. I think the DTH is 2.3, right? If it fits yours and rides anything like the Hookworm, it's probably worth looking into, as it's about ten bucks cheaper than the last Big Apple I purchased.

The hookworm is huge, heavy, and very slow. I did a century ride on it, with my wife, as it is the slowest heaviest tire I have. It was quite the workout.
Schwalbe very efficient tires. I have a 60mm one that is one of the most efficient tires made (even better than some of my 23mm race tires). I don't know much about the Maxxis DTH (that is the one you meant, right) - but maxxis can be a bit hit and miss (I love some of them). Can't go wrong with Schwalbe

I have a pair of Maxxis DTH 26x2.15 that I originally bought for gravel riding. They got used for a few commutes when I scraped that project, but after a couple of weeks I got a puncture and put on my marathons. There was a lot of glass on my route at the time.
They are hung up waiting for a project as I only have about 200 miles on them. I liked them a lot on dirt and they do ride nicely.

I love big apples, I have 50s on my Long Haul Trucker and 60s on my bridgestone mtb (both 26"). Run them about 40-50 psi (pump them up again when they get down to about 35)
