Disc mount location on fork standardization?

So, 105 brks 160 rotors off of a Synaspe mounted on Obed Baseline. After ~300km - squealing. Observed notch at bottom of pads in calipers on fork. Disassemble. Only bottom ~20% of pads sqeezing rotor. Adapter between caliper and fork say "160 disc this way up ^". Check. Remove adapter turn upsidedown so it says "140 disc this way up ^". Caliper subsequently dropped down far enough so that pads now fully engage rotor.

Sooooo?

Rear brakes no mounting issue.

Yes, the industry has tried to follow dimensional standards for disk brake mounts and hubs. Led by your favorite 500 pound gorillas (2 brands start with an "S"...). Both have published their specs and these are open knowledge.

What's going on with your two forks I can't say but I think there's more going on than mentioned. Andy
