What’s really confusing me is the Gilco style tubing

ive seen it on Daccordi, and I know others have used it.

The top tube is bent. So the bike is destined for the scrap heap anyway. I’m just curious what it is

I don't think so, it looks like a Columbus Gilco design similar to what was found on Colnagos with Combus DT15V steel

Looks like a Detto Pietro Polare.

Hard to see from your photos, but I think the seat stay caps look a bit like this:



And the gigantic cable routing hole looks like this:

I don't think that tubing is authentic Columbus Gilco, it's just "crimped".
But the "close match" Tecnotrat-made Detto Pietro has somebody's decal on the seat tube...what's that say?

So here I am sitting here quite proud of myself that I'd managed to identify a frame.

Then I do a bit of Googling about the C-18 tubing...and find this:



Not only does it have the fluted C-18 tubing, it has the same brake bridge, chainstay bridge, seat stay caps and heart shaped cutouts that the subject frame has. Plus it has a pump peg, which was absent from the red DP example.

If CyclingFool95 can confirm the routing holes are the same then it's probably just a Tecnotrat frame that received various decals.

FWIW that big oval hole for intenal TT cable routing should have a plastic (or synthetic "rubber") insert grommet that were used by several Italian brands and made by...uh...some Italian company but I forget the name!

I'll update this if I find that info
Edit: possibly these "Cinelli" style plug/grommets might fit and they are also knocked off by other makers and can (sometimes) be found on eBay...I think even when Cinelli was the primary supplier they had counterfeiters in Italy knocking them off!

Be aware though that many bik3s that had those big oval holes on the top tube ended up with cracks starting at those holes.
Not sure why, but maybe some of them did not have those hole edges smoothened enough, so it presented possible stress risers at the hole edges...

Robvolz , six ribs does it have? I concur with the Tecnotrat identification. These pop up in Australia from time to time as a lot of Tecnotrat frames were sold here. Usually the seller will have a misleading description that implies they're an unbranded Colnago, with an equally optomistic asking price

Holes in frame tubes are on the list of Ideas That Don't make Sense:

- fluted seatposts
- bottom bracket cutouts
- crimped frame tubes
- curved frame tubes
- L-shaped cranks,
- lever-action drive
- etc etc

The manufacturers count on buyers
- not knowing basic physics
- having disposable income
- believing the pimply-faced youth who's trying to boost his commission

I could straighten that top tube on one headlight. I've straightened sailboat masts bent worse than that, same for a small sailboat dolly axle that hit a chunk of truck tread on the highway, was bent about a foot, to within 1/16" straightness, I was going to go closer but the guy who owned the trailer said that was close enough. Key is no dent and no kinks, just a gentle bend like your frame. I use a hydraulic press, a 4x4 at minimum on the bottom, at least the length of the bend, then 2x4s crosswise under the head tube and seat tube junctions, then put the top tube there convex side up, then a short 4x4 on top of the top tube, which the hydraulic ram pushes on. Take things slow. Bring the ram into contact, one pump on handle, release, all springs back. Then repeat, contact, 2 pumps, release, check if all springs back. Then repeat, contact, 3 pumps, release, check. Keep increasing number of pumps after contact until it doesn't spring back all the way, that means it's starting to yield. So for example, if 3 pumps and all springs back, and 4 pumps a bit of yield, you're gonna move it one pump at a time; 4 pumps, release, contact, 4 pumps again, etc. Partial pumps as you get close. Take your time. Or get a quote from a framebuilder or specialist in frame straightening.

I no longer have access to a hydraulic press.

Was at the LBS today, they had three frames out front, one looked old but nice, steel lugged frame by Georgina Terry, IIRC, they made frames proportioned better to female riders, some having a smaller front wheel. Free with any purchase over $5, and I bought some stuff. I have no room for such things, sadly, and I hope it goes to someone who can use it.

Yes that is a bent out of alignment frame normally you can't see alignment issues in pics but my bad eyes iffy judgment see 10mm plus so pretty bad.
