Marlboro bike - year? Info?

Hi everybody
Got a Marlboro bike today. Rides great without even taking care of it. A bit rusty round the lugs and in general pretty filthy and would need a good scrub. Not too much info on these online, no serial, no date on Huret components. Has ITM stem and handlebars.
Can anyone help me with a year? Also how can I treat this rust? Wanna keep the paint.
Thanks!

Looks like an entry level bike from the 70's bike boom and the generator / light placement on the fork hints at it being made where folks drive on the left or was built for that market... not sure if the Huret is original and looks to have a claw hangar.

+1. My impression was early 1970s and entry level. The Eco rear derailleur would place ot no older than 1976 and I suspect it may be a replacement. I'd like a better look at the front derailleur, shift levers and brakes.

I was hoping for the same. A bike or jersey would be the ultimate irony. Anyway, looks cool, needs a clean. I'm thinking early-mid seventies, but definitely not a frame I have heard of before.

Just in case anyone thought that comment was a joke, or has never seen one, the Marlboro giveaway bike was a Fuji folding mountain bike, and there were at least a few people who smoked enough to get one. I knew one of them (past tense).

I'm pretty sure Marlboro were in the UK in the mid 70's. I have one of the ladies racing bikes they produced. Most of their bikes were low end but they are fairly rare these days.
