Trike wider than 36" = 92 cm?
The designers of a local trail are going to install bollards because of ATV trespass. Their basis is 32" from ADA wheelchair.
I know my trailer is wider than that; I need 36" to get past.
I'm not familiar with trikes. Is 36" enough? (I'm posting in Utility also to catch the cargo crowd...)

36 plus an inch or two
You don't want the bollards to be set at exactly 36". I have at least one trike, a Greenspeed GTO, that would be a very tight fit trying to get through exactly 36". All of the Catrike models have a width between 31 and 34.5 inches so theoretically 36" would be OK. An extra inch or two would be desirable just in case the rider misjudged while approaching the bollards. There is at least one bike trail in Henderson NV where they placed the bollards too close together and neither my GS GTO or my Catrike 700 can get through. Fortunately it is still possible to get around them without lifting the trike over them. Remember that the base the bollard fits into may be larger than the bollard itself making the minimum clearance even less.

A Kettwiesel Cross is 35.5" wide, and I think at least one major brand sells a Clydesdale model that may be wider than that. I think the people building the trail crossings need to allow a bit more room.

FWIW - I know that my HPV Scorpion needs at least 38 inches - possibly more when you consider how you mount your mirrors.
I have the same issue with my local bike trail - some of the existing bollards are too narrow for my trike. Just last week, I e-mailed the DPW of the county about this but have received no response so far (Typical....)
You might want to raise this as an ADA issue as well, since many trike riders would qualify under the ADA.
