Shipping a 2 wheel recumbent - tips ??
I've got two recumbents that I'll be selling, [HP Veloteknik Grasshopper and Performer Saki] and may involve shipping. I've shipped plenty of 2 wheel diamond bikes, but never a recumbent.
What size boxes are needed for a disassembled 'bent? (E-bike or mtn bike boxes?) One box, or do I need to ship in two boxes?
Any issues or strange requirements with UPS/Fedex/Bikeflights/PirateShip ?
Thanks!

Shipping companies charge by dimensions (length plus height plus width), and there may be a maximum length; so reducing the size by removing wheels, booms, seats, are all good to do.Sometimes it helps to turn the fork around backwards. No matter what you do, you'll probably need to piece together two standard bike boxes in order to make one long enough.

A friend just shipped a Barcroft Virginia from Tucson to Florida via Bike Flights in an E bike box that was not cut down. $200. Everything went in the box with room to spare. I thought the bike might need cut down, but it didn't. E bike boxes are really large.
