Just curious - how do you commute just one way? How does the bike make it back again?
I am a 50+ commuter, 25 km round trip (Ontario, Canada), and fair weather only too -- although I see others slogging through snow and ice -- not this chick! (not yet, anyway)

51 and an all season commuter. Thirty three mile round trip. Missed one half of one round trip in 2004 due to weather. Not bad in Ohio.
Still looking for you on the path OldShacker. Riding clear down to Deeds Point Bridge since they closed the Findlay Street Bridge.

OhiOH- On the road after 6:00AM-ish going to work and 5:15PM-ish heading back.
I really like the Spaulding (Kettering Rec. Path) now it is just Wagner to Stroop to County line then Spaulding bike path all the way. Only one pain is at Eastwood Lake, they have the road blocked. I have to lift the bike over. I get to Eastwood around 6:20-ish.

52 years old and commute to work 3 times a week when I am not playing hockey. 21 kms each way. Shower and shave at work and safe bike storage is provided. I have been commuting for the past 4 years and looking back wish I had started long ago.

53YO next month.
Commute 21 miles round trip as often as the weather allows on my 33YO Falcon "10 speed."
I enjoy it more now that I did when I was a kid.

In 22 days I will be 63. I have commuted daily since 1999. My one way commute is 5.2 miles. I now wish it was twice that. No good long way home though. I commute about 220 days a year. Only snow or ice will put me in my car and that happens seldom here in Tacoma WA. I also ride approximately 2400 miles in club rides during the year. I have lockers and showers at work. Of approximately 300 workers at my location there is only one other bicycle commuter. He is 20 years younger, has a shorter ride, and rides fewer days than me. Commute bike is a Cannondale T2000. I am looking at a bent for the future.
