I lived in RSA for a couple of years and visited that area but did not bike there. I helped with a bike program and found the bike stores to be helpful. I do not know this LBS but I expect they would be willing to provide advice. There are others as well you can investigate. https://www.commuterclubhouse.com/ .

Touring in South Africa
If you are going to travel so far to get there, I would recommend saying longer.

hi there Mr Kookookachoo
Have no idea, but have you checked out crazy guy for trip journals for there?
The only suggestion I can give is to maybe take a look at Tim Towers journals on crazy guy, he did ride in Africa, but not sure where. His trip journals put down an astounding amount of information, which can be really handy for others. I followed some of his route in central america, and having his first hand accounts of roads and where stores were etc, was rather handy.
also, last year I met a young Canadian guy in Mexico, on his way down to Patagonia. I check in on him sometimes via his youtube channel, hum of the earth, and saw recently that he flew to south africa and is riding there, and will hopefully make it to Cairo.
Dont know if his vids would be of help, but maybe check them out.
cheers
