Is this a sign of dementia?
I'm age 65, and I've signed up for the Davis Double Century, which is tomorrow. If that wasn't enough to prove the lack of mental acuity, the forecast is for cold and rain most of tomorrow. On top of that, I'm riding this on my Ron Cooper. I briefly thought about begging out but my compatriots seem to have successfully shamed me into riding. Tomorrow is going to be a doozy!

My most memorable rides have been the ones that I considered backing out of. The Davis Double is frequently too hot, so this will be a different kind of year. Keep reminding yourself that you're one of the tough ones that didn't weenie. Buy yourself a trophy gift at the end. And yeah, post some good photos.

I would be reasonable, ride the 45 or 100 miler. I know it is not the Double, with grey hair I have just become more reasonable.

As an older ski patroller I earned the nickname SafetyStu** - in tricky situations (usually every shift) “if you choose to do it, do it right but do it smart!”
Tomorrow should be a riding day, too!
**SafetyStu even got cartooned and lampooned (billy-goated?) on stickers handed out to younger skiers.
